Introduction

Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in this

SECOND INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON SPOKEN DIALOGUE SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY,

which will be held at Gotemba Kogen Resort in the Fuji area, Japan from October 1 to October 2, 2010.

Following on the success of IWSDS 2009 (in Irsee, Germany), the annual workshop will bring together researchers from all over the world working in the field of spoken dialogue systems.
It will provide an international forum for the presentation of research and applications and for lively discussions among researchers as well as industrialists.
This year's workshop designates "Spoken Dialogue Systems for Ambient Environment" as a special theme of discussion.  We would also like to encourage discussions of common issues of spoken dialogue systems.

The workshop will be carried out as a satellite Event of INTERSPEECH 2010; Makuhari, Japan, September 26-30, 2010 and is supported by the Korean Society of Speech Scientists.  The workshop proceedings of IWSDS2010 will be purblished as LNAI.

We welcome you to the workshop.
