The Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg is planning to introduce tuition fees for international students coming to Baden-Württemberg to pursue academic studies. The tuition fees are to be imposed from winter semester 2017/18 for students who begin their studies in Baden-Württemberg. Once the respective law has taken effect, you must expect to pay tuition fees amounting to *1,500 EUR per semester starting from winter semester 2017/18. Please find further information on the Ministry's website.

Orientation Week for International Students
At the beginning of each semester we organise an orientation programme for international students who commence their studies at Ulm University. Generally, this orientation week takes place two weeks before the semester begins.
Please make sure to arrive in Ulm early enough to complete all registration formalities. We strongly advise you to take advantage of the assistance offered through this orientation programme!
We will help you with
- enrolment at the university - our tutors will help you with the forms and accompany you to the office of study affairs
- authorities (e.g. Ausländeramt)
- health insurance - every student in Germany must have a valid health insurance. We can help you register and pick up the health insurance at the university where you can directly register.
- opening a bank account
- orientation on the campus and in your faculty
- orientation for your first days in Ulm and Germany
Looking for a room in a student residence? You can apply for a room even before your enrolment, you just need your admission. Information about student residences and application forms can be found on the homepage of the Studierendenwerk Ulm.
