Things to Bring with you to Ulm
Necessary Documents
- Letter of Acceptance and/or Admission Letter and/or Invitation Letter
- Passport (non-EU nationals) or identity card (sufficient for EU nationals)
- Entry visa
- 4 passport pictures
- Scholarship letter (if applicable)
- Statement of financial support (parent or bank letter, in English or German or certified translation)
- Proof of health insurance (if applicable) - for European students with statutory insurance in their home country the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is sufficient
- International Student ID Card (ISIC) (required to get bus ticket during orientation period at reduced price, recommended for many other discounts)
Recommended Things to Bring
- Medication: if you need permanent medication, don’t forget to bring your medicine. It might be much more expensive to buy it in Germany. Don’t send any medicine/drugs by mail. It will be seized by customs.
- Mugs, pots, cutlery…..
- Sleeping bag (for travel)
- Photo copies of your travel documents (passport, tickets etc.); keep them separate from the originals
- Module descriptions of the courses you have taken at your home university (recommended for students from non-European partner universities)
Medical Students
- Certificate of vaccination (proof of hepatitis B vaccination, vaccination certificate or titer)
- Name tag
- Padlock for locker
- Stethoscope
- Measuring tape
- Diagnostic penlight
- Reflex hammer
- White coat
- Clean, white shoes for the clinic
- Passport picture
