The article “The exercise of informal influence through intra-organizational impression management,” co-authored by Prof. Dr. Rouven Trapp, has been published in the Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal (AAAJ).
In this article, the authors examine how internal organizational units use rhetorical impression management to secure their legitimacy in structures that are only partially characterized by formal hierarchies. The results show that such communication can be regarded as a form of informal control and is specifically adapted to the respective target groups.

The article “Transparency in performance measurement systems: an exploration of rationales and diverging perceptions in the hospital setting,” co-authored by Prof. Dr. Rouven Trapp, has been published in the Journal of Management Control.
In this article, the authors explore the question of whether transparency in the performance measurement systems used in hospitals can help physicians to reconcile medical and economic requirements.
