Where is my child?

This research endeavor is a pilot project for reappraisal of the difficult and often life-long formative experience of losing a child. It is about women or relatives who no longer believe that their child or sibling deceased before, during or after birth. The mothers of these children usually gave birth in the German Democratic Republic in the 1970s or 1980s. Nowadays, many people ask questions. They think it is possible that their child or sibling did not die, but still lives, and is not informed about her or his descent. This research desideratum should be illustratively processed from the point of view of medical history and with regard to ethical considerations involved. Affected persons or contemporary witnesses are welcome to contact Professor Steger via his secretariat.
