Moritz E. Wigand, MD, studied medicine at the Charité in Berlin, Germany, with practical training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, U.S., and in Reims, France. He wrote a doctoral thesis at the Institute of Biochemistry, Charité, on proteasome inhibitors. He works as a senior doctor at the Department of Psychiatry II at Ulm University, Germany. His research interests are psychopathology, mental illness stigma, and medical humanities. He is currently working on a medical humanities project at the Institute of the History, Philosophy and Ethics of Medicine, supported by the Clinician Scientist Programme of the Medical Faculty of Ulm University.
