Stefan Britsch (born 1962) studied medicine at the Universities of Bochum and Freiburg. 1992 thesis at the University of Freiburg (supervisor: Prof. Bodo Christ). 1992-1996 Physician at the University Hospital Tübingen (Departments of Gastroenterology and Hematology). 1996-2002 Postdoc at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin-Buch (with Prof. Carmen Birchmeier). 2002-2007 Junior group leader and Helmholtz Fellow at the MDC. 2004 Habilitation  in Anatomy at the Charité Berlin. 10-2005 Ruf W2-Professor for Anatomy, Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, 02-2006 Ruf W2-Professor for Anatomy, Georg-August-University Göttingen, 08-2006 Ruf W2-Professor and head of the department of cell biology, Ruhr-University Bochum. 2007 Associate Professor for Anatomy at the Department of Anatomy and Embryology, Georg-August-University Göttingen. Since 2008 Full Professor (W3) and head of the Institute for Molecular and Cellular Anatomy, Ulm University.
