We investigate the signaling events that shape the early stages of traumatic brain injury (TBI), focusing on neuroinflammation, metabolic disregulation, synaptic vulnerability, with translational and drug-repurposing goals. We expand our interest into new biological layers of traumatic brain injury responses, involving long non-coding RNA, circular RNA, endogenous retroviruses.

We exploit human samples, porcine models and murine models as well as iPSC-derived human cells for the multidimensional study of TBI, leveraging our experience in phosphoproteomics, multiplexed chemogenetics, viral tracing, neuroimaging and artificial and synthetic intelligence.
