Title: Syntheses of precise supramolecular architectures
Research description: Living systems maintain themselves in a dynamic equilibrium with their environment via supramolecular forces like hydrogen bonding, π-π-interactions, metal-ligand-interactions, etc. These secondary interactions can lead to interesting properties like molecular recognition, self-organization or replication. The combination of this chemistry with polymolecular entities leads to the field of supramolecular polymers and macromolecules, which offers a huge variety of different materials with good mechanical, electronic or biomedical functions.
