Institute of Comparative Molecular Endocrinology

Under the lead of Prof. Dr. Jan Tuckermann the Institute of Comparative Molecular Endocrinology is devoted to the analysis of hormonal control mechanisms of stress-, ageing and life style related disorders. The focus of the three independent research groups is glucocorticoid hormones in immune system and bone integrity, hormonal regulation of iron homeostasis as well as hormonal and aging-related changes in the expression and activation of RAS GTPases. Besides its diverse activities in science. The institute is involved in teaching of the faculty of natural sciences (Bachelor and Master programs) and the faculty of medicine. In addition to different courses covering basic biological topics the institute offers Bachelor- and Master thesis projects dealing with latest scientific questions.
