Donation to the Cirstea lab for Costello Syndrome research

Ulm University

The Research Group Cirstea at the Institute of Comparative Molecular Endocrinology has received in June 2020 a donation for its research activities from the Timm family. The generous donors released the following statement: “In order to gain a deeper understanding of the Costello syndrome, it is crucial to explore molecular processes of age-related pathologies including osteoporosis, cardiomyopathy and cancer. The aim is to discover key elements, which have the potential to path the way for the improvement of the patient´s quality of life. Our responsibility towards our fellow human beings is therefore to find the appropriate treatment or to support those who have committed themselves to this subject. In this way, we would like to make a contribution and support science with a donation.”

We are thrilled and extremely grateful for the generous donation received from the Timm family. This donation means a lot to us as a research group and will allow us to upgrade some of our research equipment. As scientists fully committed to biomedical research, when we receive a confirmation from the public that our efforts are appreciated, it drives us even more to achieve our scientific goals aimed at understanding human diseases.
