Intermolecular conical intersection on potential energy surfaces of oligothiophenes

In cooperation with physicists of the University of Oldenburg, the coherent motion of a vibrational wave packet through an intermolecular conical intersection in multidimensional potential energy surface of aggregated oligothiophenes was identified by ultrafast 2D electronic spectroscopy for the first time. These exciting results could become relevant for the future development of organic semiconductors with application in organic photovoltaics and are described in our latest publication with the title „Intermolecular conical intersections in molecular aggregates” which just was pub-lished online in Nature Nanotechnology 2020, DOI: 10.1038/s41565-020-00791-2.
