Theory of Communication Networks
Theory of communication networks deals with the modelling and performance evaluation of communication networks. The main focus is on state-of-the-art analysis methods that provide a basic understanding of performance in communication networks. These methods are the foundation for planning and optimization of communication networks. The implications of the individually discussed theories are explained using specific examples with a focus on the Internet and vehicular communication networks. In addition to analytical methods, the lecture provides an introduction to measurement methods in real-world or prototypical communication networks.
