The Practical Actuarial Science course covers the design and pricing of innovative life insurance products. In particular, the link of such products to investment indices and capital markets is considered. The course includes the simulation of such products.


The Practical Actuarial Science course consists of lectures and case-studies. Students will work in small groups and have to present their findings in front of the other participants.

Target Group

This course can be taken by students in our Master of Finance program and Master in Mathematics and Management with specialization in Actuarial Science.


Life-, Health- and Pension-Mathematics.

Basic coding skills are desirable. We will use MS Excel and VBA. For an introduction to VBA, see the following page: VBA.
