Perception (Color Vision and Hearing)

Idea: In two experiments we learn about the logarithmic relationship between physical stimulus
and perception and discover the illumination-invariance of color vision

Overview

A series of sound sources is adjusted in a way that the loudness or frequency appears to increase in equal steps.

Measuring the physical signal of the sources afterwards is used to study the relation between perception and physical stimulus.

Color mixing experiments with different background illumination demonstrate subjective perception of color vision.

The Retinex algorithm is used to mimic human color vision by comparison of scene information.
