Report on Ulm University Delegation Visit to Southeast University (SEU), Nanjing

The five-day mission to Nanjing successfully strengthened the partnership with Southeast University (SEU). The trip centered on high-level meetings, the renewal of a cooperation agreement, and cultural exchange.

Key Achievements and Meetings

The primary objective was achieved by renewing a major cooperation agreement between Ulm University and SEU, enabling further joint research programs and student mobility.

The delegation visited the Sipailou Campus and the affiliated Zhongda Hospital, receiving a comprehensive tour of its medical education departments and state-of-the-art facilities.
This was followed by the Sino-German International Cooperation Lunch Seminar, which culminated in lectures from German and Chinese experts for PhD students on September 22, 2025—the first day of their term- and signing a renewed cooperation agreement later on the same day.

Cultural and Culinary Exchange
In a significant cultural outing, the delegation visited Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum on Purple Mountain. Despite a challenging climb of 392 steps under hot and humid conditions, the delegates paid their respects to the 'Father of Modern China' and appreciated the monument's grand Sino-Western architecture, gaining insight into modern Chinese history.
The cultural immersion included culinary experiences that allowed the delegates to sample authentic regional cuisine, reinforcing the partnership through more personal discussions. The hosts' exceptional hospitality made the exchange memorable.
