HENSOLDT AG, based in Taufkirchen near Munich, is a listed group. It was formed following the spin-off of former business units from Airbus Defence and Space specialising in sensor technology for the defence, security, and aerospace sectors. Its main product areas are radars and optoelectronic systems, electronic warfare and avionics. HENSOLDT holds a leading market position in Europe and has a global reach. As a technology leader, HENSOLDT is also continuously expanding its cyber portfolio and developing new products to combat a wide range of threats, based on innovative approaches to data management, robotics and cyber security.

Its sites in Germany include Ulm, Oberkochen, Wetzlar, Immenstaad, Pforzheim and Kiel; in South Africa, Irene and Pretoria; and in England. Of the approximately 5,600 employees, around 4,000 are based in Germany and around 600 at the subsidiaries’ sites in South Africa. Turnover in 2020 amounted to EUR 1.2 million.
