The Core Facility provides access to the innovative PET/MR technology for all researchers of University Hospital Ulm, Ulm University, as well as academic research institutions.

This innovative technique combines high-resolution imaging of anatomical structures (MR) with the high sensitivity visualization of functional processes (PET). This unique arrangement enables multiparametric investigations, including diffusion and perfusion imaging combined with different radioactive tracers. This enables not only the visualization of organ structures in highest resolution, but also their functions to be comprehensively analysed in order to detect diseases at an early stage or to optimally accompany their treatment.
