Applications for travel in the first half of 2026 may be submitted immediately.

Applications for travel in the second half of 2026 may be submitted from Apr 1, 2026.

Ulm University allocates funds from its allowance acquired from the Excellence Strategy of the German federal and state governments to support early career researchers.

The mobility programme supports travel to conferences or visits to cooperation partners.

Requirements:

  • active participation (e.g., poster, oral presentation)
  • prior attendance at one event from the ProTrainU course programme 
    (documented by certificate of participation).

Who can apply?

Doctoral students and postdocs of Ulm University are eligible to apply.
Each person eligible to apply may only claim the grant once.

The following maximum funding amounts apply:

    EUR 1,000 for national travel
    EUR 1,800 for European travel
    EUR 2,800 for overseas travel


Advance payments cannot be granted.

How to apply:

  1. Please read the funding directive.
  2. Fill in and sign the application form.
  3. Include the following documents:
    • proof of active participation 
      (e.g., abstract plus confirmation of abstract acceptance by conference host. 
      For cooperation visits: invitation from host institution)
    • certificate of attendance ProTrainU course
  4. Send hardy copy of application documents to ProTrainU office.
