Welcome to our Institute!

We are part of the Department of Chemistry and work on various aspects of physical chemistry.

The research group of Prof. Dr. Sabine Richert combines electron paramagnetic resonance and optical spectroscopy to investigate spin information transfer in molecular systems designed for applications in molecular spintronics and quantum computing.

Richert research group

The research group of Prof. Dr. Thorsten Bernhardt focuses on understanding molecular reaction dynamics both in the gas phase and on solid surfaces. In gas-phase model systems, small metal and metal oxide clusters are studied using ion-trap mass spectrometry and infrared spectroscopy. In surface photochemistry, ultrafast laser techniques and surface mass spectrometry are employed.
