Arrival by Flight and Train

The city of Ulm is easily accessible by flight and train:

The two closest airports are Stuttgart (STR) and Munich (MUC). Frankfurt am Main (FRA) is also an option since it offers the most international flights. Direct, fast train connections (ICE) are provided from all airports to Ulm Central Station (Ulm Hauptbahnhof). The train ride takes about 1.5 hours from Stuttgart, 2 hours from Munich, and 3 hours from Frankfurt.

Additionally, night train connections are available from the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia.

In Ulm, tram line 2 is the main public transportation route between the main train station (stop ‘Hauptbahnhof’) and the university (stop ‘Botanischer Garten’). Tickets are available on board or online: https://ding.eu/ 

Arrival by Car

Take the A8 to the Ulm-West exit and continue on the B10 toward Ulm/Friedrichshafen. Leave the B10 at Wissenschaftsstadt – Universität, follow the Berliner Ring, and turn left into Albert-Einstein-Allee at the first traffic light.

For drivers coming from the A7, exit at Hittistetten towards Ulm, follow the B10 through the city, then take the exit for Wissenschaftsstadt – Universität and continue to Albert-Einstein-Allee.

Parking is available at the University of Ulm campus, including Parkhaus Mitte (P20), Parkhaus Ost, and the parking area at first traffic circle. Parking on the campus and at the hospital is subject to charges.
