Ulm University and KKNU showcased joint educational projects at the DAAD 100th anniversary conference in Berlin.

Berlin hosted the DAAD anniversary conference, marking the organization's centenary and focusing on strategic academic support for Ukraine. The event featured high-level representatives from political and educational sectors, including Federal Minister Dorothee Bär, who highlighted the resilience of the Ukrainian scientific community under wartime conditions.

Professor Evgeny Spodarev and Mikhail Chebunin represented Ulm University at the event. Together with Marina Vladimirova from the partner institution, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (KKNU), they presented the results of their ongoing collaboration. Notably, Karazin University was represented by five projects, one of the highest participation rates among all partner institutions.

The presentation centered on the development of double degree programs between the Faculty of Mathematics and Economics at Ulm University and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at KKNU. The cooperation is currently expanding to include joint master’s programs, further deepening academic integration.

During the second day's breakout sessions, delegates discussed practical aspects of educational management and addressed logistical and legal challenges inherent in cross-border initiatives. The conference outcomes reaffirmed the priority of continued funding and the strengthening of scientific ties between German and Ukrainian universities.
