50 Years Anniversary of the Department of Biology

The Department of Biology of Ulm University turns 50 this year!

Biology began teaching in the winter semester of 1973/1974.
Originally consisting of two institutes located in the Centre for Theoretical Medicine, the Department of Biology at Ulm University has developed a diverse research and study portfolio.

Celebrate with us!

With over 900 students, 14 professors and numerous lecturers in 7 institutes, the Biology Department researches and teaches on the most pressing questions of our time: How do biological systems deal with stress caused by climate change, ageing and disease states, and what resilience strategies do they develop to meet these challenges?
In the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in biology, biochemistry, biology teaching and industrial and pharmaceutical biotechnology, these questions are taught in their various aspects.
