The School of Humanities (Department für Geisteswissenschaften) at the University of Ulm represents the humanities in research and teaching in the fields of philosophy, languages and general scientific education - not only for students, but also for the interested public.

It specialises in the philosophy of science and technology, general and applied ethics, foreign languages and intercultural competence and the transfer of knowledge to society.

In teaching, the Department of Humanities offers students a wide range of additive key qualifications to impart interdisciplinary skills. 

A wide range of events are organised for the general public, dealing with philosophical and socially relevant topics, in particular the interaction between science and society.

The School of Humanities consits of three divisions.
