Key Technologies for Knowledge Construction and Reasoning

In this talk, I will introduce the techniques for knowledge base construction, formal languages used to represent knowledge and techniques for reasoning with knowledge. I will first give an overview of knowledge base construction. Then I will introduce some key techniques for extracting knowledge from the Web. I will also introduce techniques for reasoning with knowledge and tools for large scale reasoning. After that, I will talk about some typical applications of knowledge base techniques. Finally, I will give some advice on future direction of knowledge base techniques.

Biography: Dr. Guilin Qi is a professor working at Southeast University (SEU) in China. He is a professional member of ACM and is in the editorial board of the Journal of Web Semantics, which is one of the leading journals on knowledge technologies.
