Dr. rer. nat. Sandra Mai-Lippold

Sandra Mai-Lippold, née Mai, works as a research associate for research and teachings in the department of Clinical and Health Psychology since 2014. In her doctoral thesis, which was certified with the dissertation award by the Ulmer Universitätsgesellschaft, she investigated neuronal substrates of the interplay of interoception, emotion and body image using electroencephalography (EEG) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Other research topics are the investigation of physiological markers and neuronal networks of interoception and emotion in healthy and clinical groups with transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), peripheral physiological measures and interoceptive stimulation. In 2017, she visited the Laureate Institute of Brain Research (LIBR), Tulsa, Oklahoma, US for a research stay and the implementation of a cooperation project regarding the investigation of the effect of energy drink consumption on interoception and emotion in anxiety sensitivity.
Since 2021 she also works as a research associate for clinical research and teachings at Ulm University and is employed as a behavioral psychotherapist (additional qualifications group psychotherapy, suggestive methods) at the Psychotherapeutical Outpatient Clinic, Ulm University.
