Focus on accounting and auditing
Today more than ever, companies must act in a transparent, compliant and economic viability manner. Accounting plays a central role in this - it forms the foundation of entrepreneurial decision-making processes and also serves as the basis for auditing and evaluating economic activities.
The "Accounting and Auditing" specialisation at the Institute of Accounting and Auditing (IRWP) at Ulm University combines the areas of accounting, cost accounting, company valuation, tax law and auditing in research and teaching. It thus optimally prepares students for responsible activities in finance, auditing, tax consultancy or corporate management.
Our courses (bzw. specify exactly: lecture tutorial etc.) not only impart theoretical fundamentals, but always focus on practical relevance. Case studies, guest lectures from the field and excursions to leading auditing and consulting firms enable students to deepen their knowledge in real-life application situations. At the same time, current scientific findings and topics such as internationalisation, digitalisation of accounting and sustainability reporting are incorporated into research and teaching.
The Institute places particular emphasis on the close integration of accounting, auditing and business and tax law - a combination that opens up excellent career prospects for graduates.
