Visit of our Guest Professor Rhett A. Kovall from Cincinnati

Universität Ulm

Prof. Kovall will visit Ulm (May 18-28) and give a lecture, a scientific talk and a workshop

In cooperation with Prof. Dr. Franz Oswald (Clinic for Internal Medicine I) the Graduate School gladly announces the visit of our new Guest Professor Rhett A. Kovall, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

The main research interests of Prof. Kovall are centered around the structure and function of Notch pathway transcription complexes. The Notch signaling pathway represents an evolutionary highly conserved key pathway in the regulation of fundamental cellular processes, including proliferation, stem cell maintenance and control of cell differentiation. In addition, aberrant Notch signaling has been found in a variety of human disorders such as cancer.

He will come to Ulm from May 18th till 28th and give a lecture, a scientific talk and a workshop:

Lecture: "The Structual Biology of Notch Signaling" on Wednesday, May 20, 4:00 pm at N25 room HS 8.

Scientific talk: „Structure and Function of the CSL-SPEN Corepressor Complex — a Negative Regulator of Notch Signaling“ on Thursday, Mai 21, 4:30 pm, niv 2, O23, seminar-room 2622, Medical Clinic.

Workshop: "Analyzing Structures with the PyMOL software", on Tuesday, May, 26, begin 2:00 pm, N25, room 2203.

We mostly encourage you to attend this lecture and workshop.

Please feel free to pass this information to every interested party.
