Research within the Rau Group

The Rau group strives to develop a fundamental understanding of light induced processes in coordination complexes. Based on this understanding we develop new photochemical molecular devices for photocatalysis, dye sensitized solar cells and photodynamic applications. The foundation of all activities is the ability to synthesize metal complexes with tailor made properties by utilizing ligand design strategies. It is our mission to address key questions of human society in the areas of energy and health in an interdisciplinary and international research effort.
