Basic training according to the Animal Welfare Ordinance (TierSchVersV) Annex 1

Courses for persons working with animal experiments

Anyone who carries out animal experiments or works with laboratory animals as part of animal experiments requires a certificate of competence in accordance with TierSchVersV Annex 1 (formerly "Felasa Category B").

We are now offering a compact weekend course to learn the practical basics, from Friday to Sunday, with time to travel to and from the course.
The necessary theory can be completed online at your own pace beforehand. The course also includes a 3R (replace, reduce, refine) module, which is mentioned in the certificate of participation.

A team experienced in laboratory animal science and teaching is available as supervisors. At least 5 supervisors are on site for a maximum of 20 participants.

The theory can be completed in German or English, and the documents are also available in both languages. The theory courses are available online from approx. 10 weeks before the date. Allow approx. 20 hours for this.
The course language is German, but an English-taught course can also be offered if required. The documents for the practical part are available in German and English.

Learning assessments are carried out both in theory and in practice and certificates are issued upon successful completion.
