Consultation Session on the Global Teaching Labs
Organizer: UGo! - Team
Location: Online, via Zoom
Would you like to play an active role in shaping international teaching at Ulm University?
The Global Teaching Labs support international teaching projects and accompany teaching staff in developing, implementing and making them visible.
Funding is available for teaching projects that prepare students for a globally connected academic and professional environment - for example through international partnerships or digital and hybrid exchange formats within the meaning of Internationalisation@Home.
The aim is to sustainably test and further develop international teaching approaches and anchor them in the curriculum in the long term.
The Global Teaching Labs will be offered for the years 2026, 2027, and 2028.
In the Global Teaching Labs, teaching staff (further) refine their concepts, exchange ideas and make their results visible. Throughout all phases of development, implementation, and evaluation, they are supported by expertise from various units as well as through tailored consultations and workshops. Participants engage in peer exchange and provide collegial feedback. At the end of the programme, the developed courses and concepts are made visible and shared so that transfer - at Ulm University and beyond - is possible.
Funded teaching projects receive financial support of up to €20,000 per project. The funding may be used for the following purposes:
All teaching staff from all faculties and departments at Ulm University
are eligible to apply.
Application deadline: 5 April 2026
Submission: by email to UGo@uni-ulm.de
(Subject line: Application Global Teaching Lab)
Applications must be submitted using the provided application form.
Further details can be found in the current call for proposals.
Funded Global Teaching Labs make the following commitments:
The funding must be used for teaching projects within the 2026 calendar year and will support their implementation.
All Global Teaching Labs receive support and guidance throughout the funding period from different perspectives (ZLE, IO and QBR) as well as through tailored consultations and workshops.
The funded teaching projects are monitored (in terms of project progress) and evaluated (with regard to teaching and learning quality as well as the achievement of objectives). This includes status meetings, student feedback during the implementation phase, and surveys on the further development of the Global Teaching Labs as a whole.
Participating teachers engage in regular exchange formats to share their ideas about their concepts and project progress and to provide collegial feedback.
Funded teaching ensure the visibility of their concepts and results and contribute to their potential transfer to other contexts – for exemple, by documenting best practices, sharing experiences and results at conferences or university-wide exchange formats, or publishing in relevant journals.
