Master Module Genetics and Cell Biology

The module "Genetics and Cell Biology" is offered for students enrolled in the Master's program "Biology" or "Biochemistry". It is open for max. 24 students and takes place in the first half of the summer term. 
The enrolment is managed by the study commission for Biology/Biochemistry.

Students joining from foreign universities or a German technical college (FH) must have adequate hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques! We will not reusme PCR, pipetting etc. 

The whole module is comprised of the lecture “Molecular Cell Biology”  and the practical course. 

Students can attend to the lecture separately in the context of another module (3 CP).

 

Major subject students (full module): 
Lecture: Written exam (3 CP, graded)
Lab course (12 CP, graded): The grade is made from two achievements: 
1) Each group of two students submits a written report for the lab course. 
2) Each group presents the obtained results and is able to discuss them in the scientific context. 

Minor subject students: 
Students can take the lecture separately. 
They can get an ungraded certificate of attendance of 3 CP take the written exam to obtain a grade for 3 CP.
