My research focuses on advancing biomedical diagnostics through the integration of molecular spectroscopy, innovative biosensing technologies, and artificial intelligence-driven analytical approaches. By combining mid-infrared spectroscopy, electronic nose technologies, and advanced chemometrics, I investigate disease-specific molecular fingerprints and identify clinically relevant biomarkers in biological fluids, extracellular vesicles, and exhaled breath.

My work spans cancer, infectious and chronic diseases, and trauma-related physiological alterations, bridging fundamental molecular insights with clinical applications. Within the MTW research framework, my research contributes to understanding disease mechanisms at the molecular level and translating complex biochemical signatures into next-generation diagnostic and monitoring technologies, with particular emphasis on early detection, personalized medicine, and accessible, non-invasive healthcare solutions.

My research focuses on the development of advanced mid-infrared photonic technologies and optic sensors for molecular analysis, with an emphasis on miniaturization, analytical selectivity and system integration. This work connects optical design and light-matter interactions with the engineering of complete sensing platforms. It spans component characterization, prototype development and experimental validation.

Current applications include isotope resolved breath analysis and the spectroscopic investigation of different samples, materials and interfaces. Within the MTW research framework, these technologies will support the investigation of trauma-related biological processes and the development of future diagnostic and monitoring approaches.
