The 2nd Ulm Symposium on Solar-Driven Chemistry (SOLCHEM 2026)
In the legacy of the thriving first Ulm Symposium on Solar-Driven Chemistry in 2017, the CataLight Symposium SOLCHEM 2026 aims to gather and connect again world-leading experts in (solar) light-driven chemistry.
To boost world-wide networking and provide a long-term plattform, SOLCHEM 2026 aims for a high degree of interdisciplanrity:
Photochemistry and Photocatalysis
Organic Photovoltaics and Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
Light-driven Mechanisms, Spectroscopy and Photophysics
Photoelectrochemistry and Photochemical Devices
Photochemical Reaction Engineering
The Transregional Collaborative Research Center TRR234 "CataLight"
CataLight is a transregional collaborative research center, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), hosted by the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and Ulm University. CataLight's members include:
the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology Jena (IPHT),
the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz,
the University of Vienna,
the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research Mainz,
the University of Oldenburg
Inspired by the chloroplasts of natural photosynthesis, the vision of CataLight is to develop coupled photocatalytic systems in which light-driven multielectron oxidations and reductions lead to productive chemical reactivity.
