As part of the ceremony marking the 52nd anniversary of Ulm University, our Janis Köster received the Harald Rose prize in 2019. The young scientist studied defects in two-dimensional molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe2) using the CC/CS-corrected high-resolution electron microscopy SALVE and carried out accompanying calculations. His Master's thesis, which is originated in material science electron microscopy, leads directly to several publications. One of these publications is “Electron-Beam-Driven Structure Evolution of single-layer MoTe2 for Quantum Devices”. The prize is awarded by CEOS system GmbH and is named after the pioneer in electron microscopy, Professor Harald Rose, who holds a senior professorship in our group at Ulm University.
