Integrated High-Frequency Circuits

Study Programmes

Master Elektrotechnik > Vertiefungsmodul
Master Communication and Information Technology > Compulsory Module

Description

Nearly all radio frequency (RF) systems now use integrated circuits (ICs) in their frontends, easing their assembly, reducing size and weight, and frequently lowering cost. This course will introduce you to the most important building blocks found in monolithic microwave ICs (MMICs), such as:

•    Passive integrated elements
•    Low-noise and power amplifiers
•    Mixers and frequency multipliers
•    Oscillators
•    Baluns and quadrature generation
•    Transmitters and receivers

Lab exercises introduce you to the microwave CAD environment ADS and design methods for amplifiers.
