Multidimensional Trauma Sciences
… the new research building at Ulm University, which brings together researchers from multiple disciplines to investigate the complex consequences of physical and psychological trauma and to translate these findings into innovative treatments.
Understanding trauma in all its dimensions ...
Trauma can affect anyone, regardless of age or medical history. It often results in complex physical and psychological consequences. The body’s response to such threats is multifaceted, involving processes that range from acute complications to long‑term effects that can shape the lives of those affected.
In the “Multidimensional Trauma Sciences” research building, trauma is studied
- from the molecular level through the whole organism to society,
- examinig the interplay between physical and psychological trauma,
- across the entire lifespan and even into subsequent generations.
Covering nearly 5,000 m² of research space, experts from various disciplines work together to unravel these complex processes and to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, advancing therapies tailored to individual trauma patients.
