The NETPEC project

(temporary page while the main project page is under construction)

NETPEC stands for "Negative Emissionen mittels photoelektrochemischer Methoden"/"Negative Emission Technologies based on Photoelectrochemical Methods" and is a collaborative project funded by BMBF.

The project aims for the development of negative emission approaches by photoelectrochemical means.1,2 Using sunlight as an energy source, we want to convert CO2 into products that can be stored easily, safely, and sutsainably. To this end, we study the involved processes and requirements by a highly interdisciplinary approach, spanning computational chemistry, spectroelectochemistry, electrocatalysis, photovoltaics, climate modelling, geological reservoir investigations to sustainability analysis. The involved institutions are Universität Ulm (A. Groß), Universität Tübingen (M. May, K. Rehfeld), Technische Universität Darmstadt (K. Reiter), Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (A. Patyk), Universität Stuttgart (M. Saliba),  and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (P. Bogdanoff).
