Sebastian Zillien, scientific employee at the IRM Institute ("OMI"), recently finished his PhD. While Sebastian already works at Ulm University since almost two years, his PhD was completed at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau under the supervision of Christoph Garth and Steffen Wendzel. The reason for him finalizing the thesis at RPTU is that he pursued his PhD as part of a RLP-Forschungskolleg called SIVERT, of which Prof. Steffen Wendzel was a Co-PI.
Sebastian’s thesis focuses on novel methods to increase the stealthiness of network covert channels and resulted in several high-ranked publications at ACM AsiaCCS, IEEE TDSC, IFIP SEC, and other venues. He is now starting his next career step as a postdoctoral researcher at the Inst. OMI.
