Experimentelle Doktorarbeit (m/w/d) / Ph.D. position in Molecular/Developmental Neuroscience (m/f/x)

A Ph.D. position is available in the group of Prof. Dr. Stefan Britsch at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Anatomy at Ulm University, Germany.

Our research focuses on the transcriptional control of neurogenesis during development as well as aging and neurodegeneration employing modern techniques of molecular biology, cell biology and imaging on mouse models. The Ph.D. project will focus on the role of the transcription factor Bcl11b during adult hippocampal neurogenesis employing an inducible mouse model. The project will involve molecular biology, e.g. screening and evaluation of target genes, ex-utero electroporation and slice culture, confocal microscopy as well as behavioral studies. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated student interested in aspects of brain development preferably with a background in molecular biology and mouse genetics.

The position is initially available for 3 years with a possible extension.
