Research interest:
"In my research, I focus on the molecular mechanisms involved in the DNA damage response, with particular interest in PARP-1. PARP-1 acts as a crucial DNA damage sensor that is recruited to sites of DNA strand breaks to initiate and facilitate repair processes. I use smFRET studies to investigate the structural dynamics of these processes in detail. With this state-of-the-art technique, conformational changes and interactions can be observed and analyzed at the single-molecule level."
