Situation and Emotion
The objective of project area C is to endow companion-systems with the ability to entirely understand situations context-dependently where users interact with the system. For this purpose both the environment as well as the users' condition regarding emotion, disposition, and intention must be recognized reliably. Multimodality, conflation of results, and inclusion of background knowledge thereby lead to high recognition rates and a reliable assessment of the overall situation.
