Abstract:

Digital technologies offer unprecedented opportunities to personalise and scale mental health care and research. This presentation explores how digital tools-such as Internet- and mobile health applications, wearable sensors and artificial intelligence-can enhance assessment, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders while enabling large-scale, data-driven research and clinical practice. We discuss methods for individualised interventions based on evidence-based information, as well as strategies to reach underserved populations and reduce barriers to access. Furthermore, the talk addresses methodological, ethical, and regulatory challenges associated with digital mental health, highlighting pathways for integrating these innovations into routine care and robust mental health research frameworks.
