On October 8th and 8th, 2026, we were holding the 5th ELSCS conference in the “Haus der Begegnung” in Ulm, Germany.
Participants from 6 countries discussed the structure and the energy landscapes of ion conducting materials. Invited talks were given by Igor Lubomirsky (Charge traps at grain boundaries in ion conductors), Patricia Abellan (Radiation damage in battery materials), Jörg Neugebauer (Unified framework for ion conducting solids), Christian Dreßler (From molecular trajectories to atomistic mechanisms of ion transport), Jörn Schmedt auf der Günne (NMR studies of structure and dynamics of solid ion conductors), Takahisa Omata (Energy landscapes in proton conducting glasses) and Sumit Chakraborty (Multispecies and multicomponent diffusion).
Next year we intend to organize an extended version of the ELSICS conference, likely in fall again. Stay tuned.
