In May 2026, our PhD student Estera Jeruzalska successfully defended her PhD thesis with “magna cum laude”. Estera's work revolved around the PUR-family protein PURG. Using a multitude of techniques including Cut&Run, iCLIP and RNAseq, she established the first fine-grained map of PURG-dependent gene regulation. This work sets the stage for understanding the functional importance of this paralog.
