The course for lecture Multiscale Modeling in Energy Research is intended to accompany the lecture thematically and deepen as well as broaden the topics. Further, some of the seminars will be held as practical courses, where programming skills will be learned and simple simulations tools will be developed.

Seminar zur Vorlesung Physikalische Chemie II
Beschreibung:
Das Seminar zur Vorlesung Physikalische Chemie II begleitet die Vorlesung und vertieft die behandelten Themen. Im Seminar werden Übungsaufgaben besprochen, die vorab auf der Moodle-Seite zum Herunterladen bereitgestellt werden. Alle Teilnehmer sollen die Lösungen zu den Aufgaben präsentieren können und entsprechend vorbereitet sein.
Im Seminar wird mit Excel und Mathematica gearbeitet, evtl. auch mit Origin und Gaussian.
Da die Seminarübungen ähnlich den Klausuren aufgebaut sein werden, sind die Übungen eine ideale Voraussetzung für die Klausuren.
Weitere Auskunft erfolgt sobald die Gruppen eingeteilt worden sind.

Course: Solar Energy Conversion: Fundamentals
Description:
The course makes familiar with the fundamental principles of quantum solar energy conversion by introducing the following topics: solar energy conversion schemes, fundamentals of photophysics and photochemistry of photoactive materials, methods for characterization of photoactive materials, fundamental concepts of photo(electro)catalysis and solar cells.
Prerequisite: Basic modules of Physical Chemistry
