Scientific Workshop - Electroplating Deparment
The task of electroplating is the fine and surface treatment of metals of all kinds.
Electroplating of metals
(steel, brass, and copper)
- Copper plating
Electroforming, e.g. hollow conductors - Nickel plating
Bright nickel plating - hard, wear-resistant coating, good corrosion protection - Gold plating
Hard bright gold plating - hard, wear-resistant coating, highly conductive contacts - Zinc plating
Bright zinc plating - very good corrosion protection through subsequent chromating in
Colors: colorless, yellow, black
Surface treatment of aluminum
- Anodizing
- the anodized layer is very smooth, hard, and electrically insulating - Coloring of the anodized layer
- natural, black, yellow, red, blue, turquoise, green, bronze - Yellow chromating of aluminum
- electrical conductivity remains (similar to anodizing process)
- corrosion protection is increased
- excellent adhesion base for paints and adhesives - Galvanizing of aluminum
- the cleaned aluminum surface can be galvanically coated with all metals after a special chemical pretreatment
Cleaning of metallic workpieces
- Degreasing
- Hot degreasing bath with universal cleaner
- Cleaning in an ultrasonic bath - Pickling
- Derusting and descaling of steel
- Deoxidizing
- Descale stainless steel welds - Sandblasting
- Removing rust, paint residues, and scale
- Matting of metal, plastic, and glass
Hollow conductor production for use in electrical engineering
The core of the waveguide is made of aluminum. The aluminum core is electroplated with a copper shell about 3mm thick, and then the aluminum core is etched out in a solution of caustic soda.
