PROMOTES

PROMOTES - Promoting Robust Opportunitiesfor Mobility of Teacher Educationin STEM

PROMOTES (Promoting Robust Opportunities for Mobility of Teacher Education in STEM) is a model project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the funding line 'Teacher Education.International - Internationalisation of Teacher Education' with a duration of 5 years (2025 - 2029).

Our project at Ulm University aims to enable more student teachers in STEM subjects to spend time abroad. International experience not only promotes intercultural competence and the acquisition of foreign languages, but also enriches the personal and professional development of prospective teachers.

Within the framework of PROMOTES, students benefit from

  • an intercultural training programme with a focus on the "intercultural classroom",
  • an annual international summer school in Ulm (2026-2029),
  • attractive funding, counselling and support for study-related stays abroad - from a four-week internship to a semester abroad.

Once students have completed all four components of PROMOTES - participation in intercultural training, participation in an international summer school, study-related stay abroad, completion of a language course - they receive the PROMOTES 'Teacher Education International' certificate.

We create new perspectives for future-oriented teacher training - international, practical and networked.
