Prof. Dr. Birte Glimm has been awarded the teaching bonus of the Department of Computer Science.

The University of Ulm’s teaching awards were presented on July 8, 2026. The award for the Department of Computer Science went to Prof. Dr. Birte Glimm. In their nomination, the student union Computer Science highlighted not only her interactive lectures but also her immense behind-the-scenes commitment as a long-serving Dean of Studies and her passionate advocacy for student interests across various committees. Special emphasis was placed on her initiative regarding the intensive mathematics course under the FSPO 2021 regulations, which demonstrated remarkable foresight: alongside the teaching of subject matter, she integrated the psychosocial counseling service to provide students with mental health support in coping with exam-related stress. The nomination underscores this ability to think beyond the standard scope and her tireless dedication to the matters of the students.
