Our new paper in Attention, Perception, & Psychophysics is online now. Lisa Eberhardt, Christoph Strauch, Tim Hartmann and Anke Huckauf investigated the role of pupil size in basic visual processing. The results show that large pupils increase visual detection performance in the periphery. In addition to this effect of absolute pupil size during stimulus detection pupil size preceding the trial predicted performance. This indicates that also pupillary dynamics affect perception.
